This forest fire, which was rapidly advancing through steep rocky terrain, was intervened by individual volunteers. Despite lacking equipment, an intervention was carried out with the authorized personnel to extinguish the fire. To address the physical limitations of the 'forestry department' staff, we ensured that fire hoses reached the fire line in the steep, rocky area.
This fire, which threatened Alevkayası Forest, one of our last remaining natural forests, was extinguished thanks to the dedicated efforts of volunteer individuals, just 100 meters before reaching the critical point at Andızlı Boğaz.
